The second day of the Bahi “Russia – Northern Forest” became unexpectedly frosty: instead of the minus of one degree of Celsius promised by weather forecasters, the temperature dropped to minus 18. This, of course, changed the cover of the highway a little, but the race turned out to be really ice and slippery. Three specialists and over 250 kilometers were in the Saturday Racer Day menu, while one of the special stages was generally in a novelty for athletes, since there were no races on it earlier. Not all crews were able to get to the finish line.

In the morning, the crew of Vyacheslav Paputsky was supposed to open the second racing day following the results of yesterday’s draw. However, the technical problems did not allow him to start starting, and the honor of being the first went to the crew of Dmitry Cherkesov, who was not easy for the role of “opening”:

“The special facilities went well, without breakdowns,” Dmitry Cherkesov shared his impressions after the first section, “it’s hard to go the first to the first.” At first, the track was not rolled up, the car did not steer. Then the little brudes went. They are frozen, you have to break them – the first car. And almost to the stop, you slow down. Then the car fails and it is worth the skid. And there are six or seven such forces in a row. And under the finish, the hook is already good, they drove perfectly!

After the first circle, the crew of Dmitry Voronov showed the best time, after him, Anastasia Nifontov came to the finish of 10 seconds behind him, and Boris Gadasin closed the three leaders.

Already after the second special stue end (Su-2), the peloton race did not count several crews. If Vyacheslav Paputsky did not start for technical reasons, then Mansur Enikeev could not get to the Liazone to the Su-2. The crews of Mikhail Rastorguev at the Nissan Pathfinder and Ivan Porkyo at UAZ Kargo left the struggle. And Alexander Semenov from the GAZ team Raid Sport on one of the sharp turns flew into the snow. The crew lost a lot of time and returned to the race only with the help of Andrei Dinburg, who also provided assistance on his Toyota LC 200 and pulled out a Gazelle NN from snow captivity.

“Today, the race began unsuccessfully for us, said Alexander Semenov.” We flew the parapet to the bastard, at the end of the special expert flew into the moat – like a ball in a lobby! We lost 20 minutes there, while we got out of it. Plus, they did not meet the norm, and the judges threw us another hour and a half of the penalty time. The second circle has already chosen a pace so as not to make mistakes.

The next specializer again brought losses in the camp of participants in the race. Andrei Rudskoy designed the gathering – officially for personal reasons, but they say that the engine was standing. Bogdan Vavrenyuk, acting on the GAZ-67, also could not continue the struggle. Boris Gadasin, who was 4 minutes 52 seconds, was captured by Dmitry Cherkesov and for 5 minutes 29 seconds faster than Anastasia Nifontova for 4 minutes. Dmitry Voronov – a wonderful rallyist – filigree piloted his car on ice tracks, but the torn belt of the timing belt took a lot of time, and Voronov finished the tenth. For Alexei Ignatov from the GAZ team, Raid Sports Sports Sports of all rivals in the Raid-Sport category allowed to keep a comfortable pace and complete the third special strap first in the category and 11th in the absolute.

The fourth specializer was a repetition of the morning SU and the final 72 kilometers took place in the tense struggle of Dmitry Voronov, Anastasia Nifontova and Boris Gadasin. The TEAM Maria Oparina pilot was successfully rehabilitated after failure on the previous special storage and again showed the best time – 0:58:49. Just 9 seconds, Boris Gadasin arrived at the finish line behind him, and for almost three minutes it is inferior to the leader Anastasia Nifontova.

After two stages, the tournament table is headed by a pilot from St. Petersburg Boris Gadasin. Following him in almost eight minutes Anastasia Nifontova. With a 10-minute lag from the leader, Dmitry Voronov closes the top three.

“The second circle was no longer as slippery as the first,” said Anastasia Nifontova, “there were posters. But there in the forest there was a piece of puddles – which is uncharacteristic for the northern forest, the car got dirty. As in the first round, I tried to go carefully, not to start. The paths are gambling, I want to go out!

The crew of the GAZ team Raid Sport Alexei Ignatov and Evgenia Pavlov was able to rise to one position in the general standings and is now heading the raid sport.

“Today is the second racing day, truly combat,” said Alexei Ignatov, “we drove more than 250 kilometers. There were three specialists, one of which we drove twice. It was a completely new special -stool for the northern forest, and on those tracks before the race was never held. We must pay tribute to the organizers who found an amazing route: very saturated with turns, the road is winding … such a real rally special facilities. In some places, the track, however, was completely narrow, so it was difficult for us to get into some turns, the car hardly placed in the dimensions of the road.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed piloting on this highway, the day passed without problems. The car worked out perfectly, we did not make any mistakes, unlike many competitors who, as we saw today, have encountered problems in the form of departures from the highway. Although the track today is really slippery. A few days ago there was a thaw in front of the race, then everything grabbed, and now under the snow cover very dense and very slippery ice. Today I had to work hard, keep maximum concentration. The day turned out to be interesting and heavy!
