The car will replace the mesh grille with a body-colored panel with air intakes. Other updates are promised for the C5, including improvements to the transmission and control electronics.
“The C5’s visual transformation is inspired by the futuristic design of Omoda’s flagship C7, which ushered in a new chapter of the ‘Art in Motion’ design philosophy. The changes will highlight the bold and dynamic character of the model,” says Omoda in a release received by Motor.
The updates will affect the ergonomics of the cabin, electronic systems and transmission, as well as the dynamic characteristics of the crossover. The Russian representative office of the brand does not disclose detailed information about the car.
At the same time, the Vedomosti newspaper, citing sources, reports that the production of Omoda cars in Russia will be transferred from the Kaliningrad Avtotor to the former General Motors plant in St. Petersburg. The transfer of Omoda assembly to the AGR plant in St. Petersburg is due to more convenient logistics and previously reached agreements on the production of another sub-brand – Jaecoo.
