The South American Association Latin NCAP checked the security of the Peugeot 2008 Argentine assembly, which is sold in Brazil. The result was much worse than expected: the model earned only one of the five possible star, showing the poor work of passive and active safety systems. Some systems from the arsenal of 2008 – for example, the functions of holding the lane and detection of blind zones – did not bring additional points to the crossover, since they were optional or did not meet the minimum requirements of Latin NCAP.

According to the head of the organization Alejandro Furas, this is far from the first failure of the local Stellantis car. At the same time, competitors sell safer and even “five-star” models-for example, Nissan Kicks Play, Hyundai Creta and Volkswagen T-Cross.
