This is a completely Russian development, capable of solving a wide range of tasks – from logistics and territory cleaning to inspection and support.
At Pulkovo Airport (St. Petersburg) they began testing luggage delivery using autonomous Piranha rovers. The drones were developed by the Russian company Droneshub and operate under the control of domestic software. At the pilot stage, the Piranhas are controlled by an operator, but after training, which will last up to six months, the rovers will switch to autonomous operation. Their functionality will also expand – in addition to transporting goods, they will be able to help passengers navigate airport terminals.

The ground-based unmanned platform is capable of transporting cargo weighing up to 300 kilograms and towing carts weighing up to half a ton. The operation of the rover is controlled by an operator, and the interface allows one person to simultaneously control several platforms, receiving data from each rover in real time. In general, “Piranha” is quite versatile, and it can be adapted to perform various specific tasks. The list of available equipment includes a camera with a thermal imager, radars, gas analyzers and much more.

One of the features of the Droneshub drone is its rear-wheel drive layout. The platform can operate at temperatures from -25 to +40 degrees Celsius, and can do this around the clock, with short breaks for recharging or replacing batteries. The stated non-stop operating time is up to 8 hours.
