According to Mash, Russian specialists are already working on creating firmware for the engine, which will disable the satellite anti-theft system.

The cause of the problem is the eSIM built into the motor: due to the operation of electronic warfare (EW) systems, it picks up an extraneous signal and blocks the engine, turning the car into a brick. This is most often encountered by owners of the 2016–2018 Porsche Macan and Cayenne.

At the moment, there are several temporary solutions: software being developed for 150 thousand rubles, physically disconnecting the VTS module and antennas for 28 thousand rubles, as well as the “folk” method – shielding the control unit with foil, which costs about 8 thousand (as long as it is effective). At the same time, some services are trying to profit from the problem by asking for up to 120 thousand rubles to disable VTS.
