In the updated Porsche 911 gamut, only Carrera T and hardcore GT3 have a manual gearbox. Michael Resaler explained that this is a conscious plan: for example, in Europe, modifications with “mechanics” are practically not bought. But in the United States, there is high demand for three -pedal versions, which the company really likes.

The representative of Porsche made it clear that the extension of the 911 line with a manual gearbox is possible. Carrera S and Carrera 4s are considered candidates, because Carrera GTS has become a hybrid, and the transmission change will violate the balance of power plant. Now it is not easy to buy a three -pipal 911 in the USA: production volumes are small, so customers will have to negotiate with the dealer individually.

In the past, Porsche already had rulers without “mechanics”, but after the outrage of customers, the manual gearbox returned. For example, the Porsche 911 GT3 in 2014 was offered only with the Robot, but after four years an alternative in the form of “mechanics” appeared, and the possibility of choosing the type of transmission remains still in all markets.
