The main innovation for the 2025 model year is the upgraded Cummins diesel engine. The inline-six received a new turbocharger and other improvements, as a result of which its output increased by 10 horsepower, to 435 horsepower and 1,458 Nm of torque. Other changes include an eight-speed automatic transmission, which replaces a six-speed automatic, and the ability to tow a trailer weighing up to 1.66 tons.
Ram explained exactly what improvements the diesel six received: the 6.7-liter engine received a new cylinder head, a different fuel line, a new turbocharger, a different intake and oil filter. And now such an engine is available not only in the heavy version of the 3500 HD, but also in the “junior” 2500. As for the automatic transmission, instead of the Chrysler or Aisin automatic, the automaker began installing ZF PowerLine.

The Ram 2500 is said to be faster with the update, with the truck going from 0 to 60 mph (96 kph) in 6.9 seconds, which is 1.1 seconds faster than before.
In addition to the Cummins diesel engine, the gasoline 6.4-liter Hemi V8 is still present in the engine range, but it has slightly lost power (-5 horsepower) and now develops 411 horsepower.

The most noticeable changes in the exterior design are two-tier front optics and a new hood with an air intake, as well as transformed side mirrors and lights.
