This will be a commercial version of the 2022 Renault 5 Turbo 3E concept, and, as Autocar writes, the model’s production will be limited, and it will cost about 100 thousand pounds sterling – 120 thousand euros. There is little information about the car yet, but it is known that it will accelerate from zero to hundred in 3.5 seconds.
Renault has announced the return of the Renault 5 Turbo. The new production model will be an electric hot hatch, previewed by the Renault 5 Turbo 3E concept for the 2022 Paris Motor Show. The commercial electric car, like the original Turbo, will have a rear-wheel drive layout. The wheels will be driven by two electric motors with a combined output of more than 500 horsepower, providing acceleration from zero to hundred in 3.5 seconds.

Compared to the Turbo 3E, the regular Renault 5 looks, of course, faded: a maximum of 150 forces and about 8 seconds to “hundreds”. The related Alpine A290, in turn, already has 220 horsepower and accelerates to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.4 seconds. The Turbo 3E concept had 380 horsepower, went from 0-100 km/h in the same 3.5 seconds and could accelerate to 200 kilometers per hour. Unlike the “civilian” Renault 5, the prototype was based on a tubular frame, and the production hatchback may well follow the same path.
According to Autocar, the Renault 5 Turbo 3E will have a composite body. Considering how much it costs, the circulation will most likely be limited. The price is expected to be around 100 thousand pounds sterling, which corresponds to 5.3 million rubles. For this amount, if you wish, you can buy an original Turbo, although everything will depend on the mileage and condition.
