In a month, Russian plants produced 69.8 thousand cars, the website of the Federal State Statistics Service said. This is 11.3 percent more than in April 2024, and by 14.6 percent exceeds the Martha 2025 indicator. In general, from the beginning of the year, 246 thousand cars have left the conveyors. Growth compared to the same period last year is 8.3 percent.
In other categories of auto industry, less positive. So, the release of trucks in April fell by 22.4 percent compared to last year’s indicator – up to 13 thousand units. In January, 49.6 thousand were produced (-17.5 percent).
The production of bodies was most noticeably sagged. In April, the fall amounted to 47.1 percent, up to 2.2 thousand pieces, in January-April-37.1 percent, up to nine thousand. However, by March 2025, a small increase was recorded-by 6.1 percent.
The plants produced only 853 buses permissible maximum weight of more than five tons. This is 37.7 percent less than April 2024. In four months, 3.1 thousand such buses (-40.2 percent) were produced.

A small fall also showed the production of internal combustion engines. In April, 20.9 thousand units were released, which is 2.5 percent less than a year ago. Analysts explain the slowdown of production in the automotive market, as well as a decrease in imports from China after two rounds of increasing the recycling fee. In April, Russia for the first time in two years ceased to be the main importer of Chinese cars, dropping immediately to third place after Mexico and the UAE.
