The co -owner of the enterprise Konstantin Babkin, in an interview with the regional publication, 161.ru accused of overseas partners of the actual weaning of the Buhler Industries factory in Winnipeg. The top manager said that in 2022 the Canadian authorities were simply configured to take away the tractor production plant. As a result, Rostselmash managed to sell the company to the Turkish investor in less than a third of the price.
The Canadian plant appeared at Rostselmash in 2008: the calculations showed that the import of tractors from North America to Russia is the most profitable solution. The investment turned out to be effective, but in 2022 the enterprise had to part due to sanctions. Konstantin Babkin said that Canadian banks were going to buy a plant, put money on a special frozen account or not to pay at all. Credit lines were reduced, and in case of refusal, the sale threatened to block accounts.

As a result, the Buhler Industries became the Turkish Holding Holding Buhler Industries, the transaction amount amounted to about $ 45 million at the rate of 2022. Interestingly, on the official website of Rostselmash, the sale of an American enterprise is described by the phrase “The deal was held on market conditions.” However, according to Konstantin Babkin, it is more profitable today to produce agricultural machinery in China.
In the last three years, the co -owner of Rostselmash has been ineffective in the last three years: in his opinion, one import (western) was replaced with another (Chinese). Nevertheless, Russian agricultural machinery remains competitive in the world market: we lag behind leading factories, but “the gap is not fatal”, and in the case of proper economic policy it can be made up.
