Daimler Truck (included in Mercedes-Benz Group, the former Daimler AG) fell into the list of legal entities in respect of which Russia applies economic sanctions. The corresponding resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers is published on the portal of legal acts. The German concern became the 33rd in the list in the list and the first among automakers.
The list approved in May 2022 by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation prohibits transactions with companies included in it. Daimler Truck fell into it about a year after he left Russia.
The concern has not been led in the country since the spring of 2022, but until recently, he remained a co -owner of KamAZ – he belonged to 15 percent of the shares. The Daimler Truck has not participated in the activities of the Russian auto giant, said KAMAZ CEO Sergey Kogogin.

In February 2024, the concern got rid of the shares. The largest KAMAZ shareholders today are Rostec, which owns 47.1 percent of the company, and Avtoinvest with 23.54 percent.
Daimler Truck has owned a share in Kamaz since 2008, and with its support, the plant managed to significantly upgrade its model range. In addition, the Russian side using the license used components and units-for example, the cabin of the Mercedes-Benz Axor truck and the OM 457LA diesel engine.
