The power of the homemade explosive device that blew up the patrol car with people inside was about 300 grams of TNT. This was reported by the SHOT Telegram channel.
According to the Investigative Committee, the cause of the explosion was a self-detonation by an attacker. Currently, law enforcement officers are investigating criminal cases under articles of encroachment on the lives of law enforcement officers and illegal trafficking in explosive devices.
The incident occurred on the night of February 24. As a result of the explosion, the patrol car was damaged. City emergency services were at the scene of the incident. Doctors hospitalized two injured traffic police officers; their colleague received injuries incompatible with life. The man is survived by his wife and two minor children.
Earlier in St. Petersburg, drifting at an intersection brought a Toyota driver to criminal charges.
