Skoda’s top manager hinted that Yeti may have a future, but not in Europe, but in India. The form factor of a spacious crossover with a high roof will remain the same; the successor will remain in the same budget segment.
The Skoda Yeti was based on the RQ35 platform, and after switching to the MQB architecture, they said goodbye to the unusual crossover. However, in the 2010s, Yeti and Roomster emphasized the differences between Skoda and other models of the Volkswagen concern: Czech two-volume cars were more practical, offered more transformation options and Simply Clever “chips”.

In India, it is important to consolidate Skoda’s position, and the range already includes cheap traditional crossovers Kushaq and Kylaq. If Yeti is indeed revived, it could become larger and more spacious, that is, become a local flagship. At one time, the model sold 680 thousand copies, and the Skoda Yeti was also assembled at the plant in Nizhny Novgorod.
In the most important Chinese market for Volkswagen, Skoda is not doing well: about a thousand cars are sold monthly. In India, sales for the first nine months of 2024 fell by almost a third to nearly 28 thousand units. But Europe remains a key sales market: over three quarters, Skoda sold 630 thousand cars in this region, 12% more than a year earlier.
