The festival participants are strictly related to terminology: they do not set records, but make test attempts. The results are fixed with precision accuracy according to all the rules of motorsport, and the data is transferred to the Russian automobile Federation (RAF). And only after the RAF sports council approved, these achievements officially become national records. We will not remember the case that the Federation rejects the documented attempt, so for simplicity we will still call achievements with records.
Lav Racing To date, there are only three annual competitions for the establishment of official speed records on cars in different classes: Bonneville Speed ​​Week (USA), World Speed ​​Trit (Australia) and “Days of the velocity on the ice of Lake Baikal” – the only one that takes place on ice.

Railing in both directions should occur within an hour, and such rules are developed to level out external influences on the technique: wind, precipitation, condition of the route.
Lav Racing This year, the festival received the name on the title sponsor: this is often done in motorsport abroad. Therefore, the full name is “Ikon Tyres speed days on the ice of Baikal”. Accordingly, all road-participating cars were shod in the studded Ikon Autograph Ice 9. And why, say, not in a rally battle spike? Because the winter rally and speed records on ice have very little in common. The experience of many years has shown: high -quality road tires with a factory error for high -speed disciplines are much better.

Lav Racing The festival lasted four days. And the most successful of them was the last. In the other three, Baikal showed the most diverse (but not too favorable) weather. This is the fluid wind that carried away large tents and the most interfered with the races, and the complete calm, and the bright sun, flooding the ice, and severe frost, which directly influenced the tenacious of the highway. This year, due to weather conditions, for the first time “torn” the track, which took almost 2.5 km of distance. 9.6 kilometers remained, and over their length, the formed thoroughs were cut manually.

Lav Racing The festival camp is located in a secluded place, it was given from ice crossings and settlements – this is necessary for safety purposes, because the speed on the ice has already been close to 300 km/h. Therefore, transport is needed special. Often these are ships on the air pillow, but this time we tried more exotic equipment. The Russian high -speed aeroloda North 750k Long is the flagship model of the Krasnoyarsk amphibian plant. A 12-seater aeroglisser develops a speed of up to 140 km/h on ice.

The 2025 festival became one of the most difficult and unpredictable in the history of the project. The long -standing readers of Motor know that every spring in the Strait of the Small Sea of ​​Lake Baikal, participants in the “Days of speed” set the speed records, as well as the fact that this is not abstract entertainment, but official sports discipline.
