The Japanese company has quietly confirmed the arrival of the new Forester hybrid in the United States. On the American site [появилась](https://www.subaru.com/2025-subaru-forester-hybrid) page of the new product, where the premiere date is revealed – mid-2025. According to Carscoops, the hybrid Forester for the North American market will receive a series-parallel system, which debuted on the updated [Subaru Crosstrek](https://motor.ru/news/subaru-new-hybrid-21-10-2024.htm) in October of this year.
In such a system, the car can be driven by both an internal combustion engine and an electric motor, depending on the conditions. At the heart of the installation, developed with the assistance of Toyota, is a 2.5-liter flat-four with a capacity of 160 horsepower (209 Nm of torque), in tandem with which two electric units work. The first plays the role of a generator, the second is a traction one, with a power of 119.6 horsepower (270 Nm).
The battery is small – its capacity is only 1.1 kilowatt-hours. However, the total cruising range of the Crosstrek with this installation “according to the passport” is equal to a thousand kilometers.

Don’t expect any visual innovations. The only fresh touch is a new Hybrid badge, which is expected to appear on the rear door of the petrol-electric Forester.

The hybrid’s debut is still six months away, but Subaru is already accepting applications from American buyers. The cost is still unknown. A regular 2025 Forester costs a minimum of $31,115 (3.1 million rubles) including delivery costs. A hybrid, as usual, will be more expensive.
For Europe, Subaru has prepared another hybrid Forester. This is an e-Boxer system adapted to strict environmental standards with a naturally aspirated engine derated by 10 percent.
