The BMW E3, the predecessor of the 7-Series, is being sold in the Russian outback

In the Balakhninsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, a four-door with the index “2500” was put up for sale. We are talking about a 1974 Bavarian sedan designed by the legendary Wilhelm Hofmeister. The description of the car is scant, there are few photographs, but it is obvious: the BMW is in a semi-disassembled state in the process of unfinished restoration. The rarity was valued at 750,000 rubles.

The seller claims that the completeness is 90%, the original M30B25 engine and 4-speed manual transmission are preserved, and all documents are in order. Interestingly, the absence of an identification number is stated in the PTS; there is only the number of the power unit. Judging by the photograph, the rear body is not damaged and there are not even traces of corrosion.

The Nizhny Novgorod BMW E3 was released in 1974, but a “junior” six-cylinder carburetor 2.5-liter engine with 150 horsepower was installed from the factory. Such units have been installed on the sedan since 1968. By Russian standards, the model is rare, although the total circulation of the E3 is about 222 thousand units, and abroad a BMW 2500 on the go can be purchased for 11-12 thousand dollars.

However, within a week the seller reduced the price from 800 to 750 thousand rubles, which hints at the appropriateness of further bargaining. Documents without an identification number, in theory, free up your hands for almost unlimited alterations. There are no other BMW E3s for public sale in Russia at the moment.
