The transmission developed for premium cars will now become part of commercial transport. We reported that on the basis of the Aurus unit, modified boxes have been created, which are adapted for mass production. The localization of new machines for cars with ranges from six to eight steps is also planned. The project will be launched in the coming months.

The Russian nine -speed automatic box, originally designed for Aurus luxury cars, will receive a new application – it will begin to be used for Liaz and Nephas buses. This was told by the representative of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Scientific Automobile and Automotor Institute” Denis Endachev. He also said that in the near future a project to localize new transmissions for cars, which will help make them more affordable and massive.

Transmissions were developed by the Russian company Katya and initial tests have already passed. According to us, they plan to use both ready -made boxes and individual modules for buses, which will increase production and reduce the cost of each unit. In the future, it is planned to organize the release of automatic boxes with six or less gears and a resource for at least 250 thousand kilometers. Exact information about the origin of the technological solutions used is not yet disclosed.

Earlier, the State Duma drew attention to the high cost of Aurus cars, to which in February they transplanted all vice-speakers of the lower house. These cars turned out to be almost twice as much as BMW and Genesis models, which were previously used as service transport. According to one of the vice-speakers, Vladislav Davankov, Russian-made cars really make an impression, but their price raises questions even among deputies.
