The Moscow authorities intend to use cameras with noise meters and initiate confiscation of cars or motorcycles if the noise level exceeds the permissible norms. It is assumed that the penalties will pass remotely, without calling the owner to the court. The bill has already been sent to the State Duma and may be the first step towards the spread of digital control to other areas, in addition to violations of traffic rules.
In Moscow, they proposed to use cameras with the function of measuring noise in order to fight drivers who move on excessively loud transport. In addition to installing new photo -kindergarten complexes, Moscow City Duma deputies want to introduce radical measures – from large fines to confiscation of cars and motorcycles. Moreover, it is assumed that the procedure will be completely remote and will not require the personal participation of the offender in the trial.

The current Russian legislation allows the trial without the presence of the driver, but only in case of violation of the rules of the road. Now Moscow deputies propose to expand this practice by spreading it to cases of exceeding the permissible noise level – today it is 100 decibels. “The noise is most often produced by expensive cars modified for racing style,” said Alexander Semennikov, chairman of the Moscow City Duma Commission. “Modern technologies allow you to record such cases contactlessly.”
In Russia, such an initiative is no longer the first time – earlier the Moscow City Duma deputy Lyudmila Stebenkova proposed depriving drivers of rights for violation of the norms of noise. According to her, if softer measures do not bring the result, it is necessary to introduce strict sanctions, including a temporary restriction of vehicle management rights.
