The car was tested by the international association Global NCAP, the African division of the program for the South African market.
The organization’s materials say that during the crash test it was revealed that the car does not have standard head protection for front and rear passengers in a side impact. Although Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Seat Belt Reminders (SBR) are present, the latter are not Global NCAP compliant.
Thus, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro earned only two stars for the protection of adult passengers and three stars for the protection of child passengers. Global NCAP chief executive Richard Woods called the result “very disappointing”.
