The founder of Avtostat, Sergei Tselikov, shared the statistics of registering new KGM cars. It turned out that in April 64 units found buyers, and in May another 31, while 3.9 thousand cars of the former Ssangyong were imported into Russia. Thus, the share of sold machines did not reach even 2.5 percent; Thousands of cars managed in the warehouses.

The Korean company KGM became the first non -Chinese brand to officially returned to Russia. The Ssangyong brand is known with us well, because for several years the company has been a partner of the Russian Holding Sollers, and over the twenty years of buyers have found more than 165 thousand cars. But the restart under the name KGM is not yet successful: 30-60 cars sold in a month, this is 10-20 times worse than the results of the “parallel” Kia and Hyundai (without taking into account the SOLARIS brand).

KGM makes attempts to revive demand: only three months after the start of sales, the benefits reach 1.1 million rubles. Also in the company they bring poor configuration to the market to reduce starting prices. Now Tivoli costs from 3.6 million rubles, Korando – from 3.19 million rubles, Torres – from 4.09 million rubles, and Rexton – from 6.04 million rubles, taking into account direct discounts.

The KGM large -sized assembly is planned to be launched at Autotor in 2025. Perhaps the localization of production will reduce prices. In the meantime, the only official Korean brand is not easy to compete with the “Chinese”: only exotic brands are realized comparable volumes in Russia.
