The most popular used cars with diesel engines are BMW

Igor Golovan, purchasing director of the Rolf car dealer holding, said this in a commentary to Gazeta.Ru. According to the expert, at the end of 2024, it was the Bavarian brand that topped the corresponding rating. In addition to German brands, the list also included South Korean and British companies.

The most popular used diesel car in Russia was the pre-restyling BMW 5 Series in the G30 body, which was produced from 2017 to 2020. In the domestic market, the average cost of a sedan in 2024 was 3.6 million rubles. Next is the BMW X5 (F15) crossover, the price of which is about 3.8 million rubles. Another German crossover – the second generation Audi Q7 – closed the top three. The sought-after model from Ingolstadt can be purchased from domestic dealers for 4.3 million rubles.

BMW began filling diesel engines with vegetable oil in new cars. In Russia, gasoline and diesel prices will rise to a record level in 2025. In China, the ten best engines of 2024 were named.

In fourth place in popularity was another Bavarian – the coupe-shaped crossover X6 (F16). The average price for a car assembled from 2014 to 2019 is 4.2 million rubles. Also in the top among the Russians were the Toyota Land Cruiser 200, BMW 3 Series, followed by the BMW X3 (G01) and Hyundai Santa Fe. The Range Rover Evoque rounded out the ranking of used diesel cars.

In 2024, the most popular used car in Russia was the Lada Granta. Over the past year, dealers sold 150 thousand domestic public sector vehicles.
