The number of accidents has sharply decreased on the MKAD

The number of traffic accidents on the Moscow Ring Road decreased in January-February 2025 by 34 percent, compared with the same period, a year passed. This was reported by “Deptrans Moscow” with reference to the deputy mayor of Moscow on Transport Maxim Liksutov. There are also fewer dead: their number decreased by 40 percent.

It was possible to reduce the accident rate on the Moscow Ring Road thanks to several factors, notes Deptrans. A video analytics system that fixes 13 types of incidents operates on the road. In difficult situations, drivers are helped by the road patrol and the situational center of the data center, which is watching the movement around the clock seven days a week.

The drivers themselves who travel to the side of the road and release the passage with small accident also contribute to increasing safety.

Earlier, Deptrans announced the restrictions on the Moscow Ring Road. Due to construction work from March 15 to December 30, in the areas of the first, second and third kilometers, one or two stripes are not available for movement. In addition, until April 15, a plot in the area of ​​house 20 on Stalevov Street will be blocked.

In February, in the suburbs, the first section of the Paul Southern Dubler MKAD-the Yuzhno-Slytkarinsky road was opened in the suburbs. This is a denouement at the intersection of the M-2 “Crimea” highway and the Rastorguevsky highway. The next site will be launched in May.
