The system is designed to become a domestic alternative to Android Automotive and has already attracted interest from large automakers, including AvtoVAZ. Commercial launch is expected for two years.
As part of the exhibition “Digital Industry of Industrial Russia”, which is held in Nizhny Novgorod, a demonstration prototype of the new Aurora Automobile Automobile operating system was presented. The development is carried out by Rostelecom, and the basis for the system will be the domestic Aurora platform. It is expected that the new OS will support the installation of third -party applications, the connection of digital services and will become the basis for multimedia shells in Russian cars.

Officially, Aurora Automobile is positioned as a digital environment for controlling the functions of the car. The prototype includes an adapted interface, integration with a 2GIS cartographic service, an online cinema and a voice assistant from Enbisys, which is able to work even without connecting to the Internet. The developers are actively cooperation with a number of Russian IT companies and plan to launch a full-fledged product over the next two years.
Prior to this, the presentation of such a system took place in May, when it became known that LADA cars would receive a Russian digital ecosystem. Its basis will be the Aurora platform, developed by the subsidiary of Rostelecom, Open Mobile Platform LLC. Joint work on the adaptation of the system to the automobile segment will lead to Rostelecom, AvtoVAZ and ITELMA. The agreement between the three parties was concluded at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
