The release of UAZ “Hunter” was paused

The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant suspended the production of one of its classic SUVs – Hunter. This was reported by the Telegram channel “Autopotist” with reference to an anonymous source at the enterprise. According to him, the assembly of Khanterov stopped a month ago.

The reason for the production pause is organizational, the insider clarifies. The release of “Hunters” is transferred to a separate section.

It is expected that the car will not produce another two months. The Ulyanovsk plant is not going to abandon the production of “long -liver”, despite its low popularity.

So, according to the results of April 2025, the Russians bought only 51 cops of Hunter, which provided him with the last place among the WAZ models. The Bukhanka is best for sale: 928 buyers chose the SGR on commercial machines. The second place was taken by the flagship “Patriot” with 583 copies implemented, the third – “pro” (325 pieces), the fourth – “pickup” (211 pieces).

In general, for the second month of spring, the Russians bought 2.1 thousand new UAZs – 24 percent less than in April 2024. In January-April of 2025, about seven thousand cars of the domestic car factory were sold. Demand fell by almost a third.

Meanwhile, UAZs continue to rise in price. In early May, it was revealed that the Hunter and the SGR family grew up in price by 45 thousand rubles, Patriot, Pikap and Profi – by 55 thousand rubles. In relative terms, the increase is about three percent.
