The auto company responded to the information that appeared on social networks on Thursday, February 12, saying that it considers the Russian market as one of the strategic ones. The press service of Rox reported this to Motor magazine.
“The company only has plans to expand its presence in Russia. Demand for the company’s products increased by 44% in January. There is a network of more than 30 dealerships,” the press service noted.
On February 12, the SHOT Telegram channel reported that 10 Chinese car brands – Kaiyi, BAIC, SWM, Dongfeng, Jetta, Bestune, Wey, Rox, Oting and VGV – are ready to leave the Russian market, because after increasing the recycling fee they are suffering colossal losses. Lost competition was also noted among the reasons: the market was occupied by Geely, Haval and Chery.
After publication, Dongfeng also denied information about its departure, clarifying that it was “implementing a long-term presence strategy, including developing a dealer network for passenger cars, as well as supplying and supporting commercial vehicles.”
Earlier it was reported that BMW had closed the car supply channel from China.
