“Analysts told Baza that there are about 6 thousand car washes of all types operating in the capital – this is approximately 23% of the total number of points in Russia. But they are not enough for 4 million passenger cars in the city – that is how many were registered at the beginning of 2026, reports Avtostat-Info. Due to such a number of cars, each wash works under high load,” the publication says.
The situation is aggravated by robotic washes: they may unexpectedly run out of water or cleaning chemicals. The same problems arise at self-service car washes. As a result, the standard 10-15 minute procedure stretches out for drivers for almost an hour, and even longer on weekends.
