Toyota answered rumors about the resumption of vehicles to Russia

The press service of the auto giant explained to TASS: the head office of Toyota Motor LLC did not resume the shipment due to violations in logistics chains. Thus, the representative office reacted to the activity of the Toyota subsidiary in the Russian market. LLC “SP BUSINESS KAR” (belongs to the Toyota concern and the Russian dealer holding Toyota) began the sale of Japanese assembly vehicles.

Land Cruiser Prado 250 and Land Cruiser 300 Land Cruiser 300 SUVs are imported from Japan through Kazakhstan, and Camry sedans and Highlander crossovers from China from the GAC-Toyota plant. A dealer guarantee is valid for cars, but it is still impossible to name official supplies: it is a parallel import from the “SP Business Kar”. The difference from supplies from Europe is that the head office does not at least prevent sales in Russia.

There is no need to talk about the return of Toyota with local production: the assembly of cars at the factory in St. Petersburg stopped in 2022, the sale of the site for the FSUE Institute took place without an option for a return ransom, so it will not be easy to return to the Japanese. At the same time, the plant itself has not yet been restarted: the original plan implied the release of Aurus cars, but even the Russian authorities doubted this script.

Earlier this month, information appeared about the return of the Mazda brand to Russia. The official website of the brand was restarted, and the press service confirmed Autonews.ru that Mazda Motor Rus LLC resumed car shipments. The basis of supplies are the crossovers of Chinese-made, and there are no usual price lists with recommended prices.
