Toyota is preparing to launch sales of a new electric vehicle in the Chinese market: the all-electric Toyota Platinum 7 sedan will go on sale in March 2026. Autohome reports this.
The price of the basic version is expected to be about 2.2 million rubles, which positions the model in the segment of “luxury” electric cars. The car is richly equipped. Standard equipment includes an infotainment system running Harmony OS 5.0, a voice assistant with support for multi-zone speech recognition and zero-gravity seats with ventilation, heating and massage functions. The system can remember the preferences of different family members. The car also received an intelligent driving system from Momenta.
The electric car was developed by the Toyota China engineering team, and production is organized at the GAC-Toyota joint venture. The model is equipped with a dual-motor Huawei Drive One electric drive system with a power of 281 hp. In addition, the car uses LFP batteries manufactured by Sinosvolt.
A special feature of the model is a two-chamber air suspension that can scan the road surface and adapt to it. The maximum speed of the car is 180 km/h. There will also be seven exterior colors available.
It was previously reported that Toyota would switch to producing cars from waste.
