In 2024, the number of trips on Avtodor highways increased by a third – to almost 380 million. The most popular highways among drivers are M-12 and M-4: Russians began to use the first more than four times more often, Kommersant calculated. Other toll road operators are also seeing traffic growth, but more modestly.
The number of trips on the roads of the state company Avtodor last year increased by a third, reaching 379 million. This is a record jump: in 2023 the figure increased by 17 percent, in 2022 by 13.3 percent.
The most significant increase – by 322 percent – was the number of trips on the M-12 Vostok. This is explained by the opening of new sections, thanks to which it is now possible to travel from Moscow to Kazan by road.
There will be a toll backup at Yegoryevskoye Highway. A new toll highway has opened in the Moscow region. Russian road services have complained about a decrease in profits.
However, the record holder for the number of passages was the M-4 Don, on which traffic increased by almost a quarter. The highway was driven more than 179 million times in 2024. The reason is the growing popularity of the southern regions among tourists.
On the M-11 Neva, Central Ring Road and M-3 Ukraine traffic remained approximately at the 2023 level.
Last week, the cost of travel on the M-11 from Moscow to Solnechnogorsk increased. The price increased by 3-9 percent for all categories of cars, as well as for owners of transponders. Only ticket buyers were not affected by the change in tariffs.
