Truck manufacturer Shacman has launched a recall campaign on the Russian market

The official representative of Shacman on the Russian market is launching a recall program agreed with Rosstandart. As Motor magazine has learned, it involves a recall of 2,116 SX3258 type trucks. The campaign covers 1,996 cars that are in dealer warehouses, as well as 120 cars sold in June – November 2022.

The campaign is related to the elimination of a number of comments regarding the design elements of trucks of the SX3258 type (X3000/X5000 series, 6×4 and 6×6 wheel formulas).

On vehicles that have not yet been registered, it is necessary to install a side trim to the air filter fastening element and protective caps to the protruding bolts of its fastening, and also replace the reinforced rear door locks with standard ones (80 mm shorter).

On sold vehicles, it is necessary to inspect and check the condition of pneumatic device mufflers and vibration and noise insulation, properly secure the muffler if this is done incorrectly, or install a new one if it is missing or damaged and cannot be restored.

In addition, it is necessary to dismantle the side protective device and install a new one with further control of the correct installation, as well as dismantle and replace with new bolts of the rear protective device.

Earlier, the head of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology, Anton Shalaev, suggested that the so-called “golden sample” was used for certification.

According to the head of Rosstandart, the Chinese side could deceive the regulator by specially preparing the truck for testing. Other samples went to the masses.
