The high cost of car production did not allow the company to increase selling prices and make a profit in the first year of operation, the Vedomosti newspaper reports.

“At the end of 2025, the passenger car distributor Tenet Rus received a net loss of 8.7 billion rubles. This follows from the company’s financial statements (available to Vedomosti),” the newspaper reports.

The company cited the high cost of the machines as the reason for the loss, which cannot be compensated for by increasing prices. In addition, huge expenses to stimulate sales had an impact – warehouses were overcrowded, and demand in the Russian car market in 2025 fell noticeably.

Production of Tenet cars was launched at the former Volkswagen plant in the Grabtsevo industrial park (Kaluga region). Since August 2025, the company has switched to a full production cycle, including welding and painting of bodies.

The automation level of the welding shop reaches 90%, and hundreds of robots are used on the line.

At the moment, the Tenet brand’s lineup is represented by three crossovers, which are produced in a full cycle. These are models T4, T7 and T8.
