Serial production of the model will be launched at the Argentinean plant in Pacheko in 2027. For this, the enterprise will introduce new technologies and optimize digital processes, investments in the project will amount to $ 580 million. The new generation Amarok pickup is created by the efforts of the local Volkswagen unit, and the slogan of the model that will enter the market in 2027 sounds like “developed in South America for South America.” In the meantime, the first -generation model is produced and sold in Argentina, which survived the update in 2024. During the planned restyling, the pickup was modernized: they added a digital dashboard and a multimedia system with a large touchscreen, and at the same time corrected the exterior design.

In parallel in South Africa, the “second” Amarok is assembled on the basis of Ford Ranger, and it is intended for the markets of Australia, New Zealand, Africa, the Middle East and Europe. It is produced at the “Ford” Silverton Assembly Plant plant in the suburbs of Praetory.
This Amarok is based on the T62 platform, the same on which Ford Ranger is built. The “basic” pickup is equipped with a 150-horsepower 2.0 TDI diesel engine, a version with a “four” on 170 horsepower is located a step higher, and followed by a two-liter TDI two-liter TDI with two turbochargers, set up for a recoil of 204 or 209 forces. The most powerful of the diesel engines is the V6 3.0 TDI, developing 241 or 250 forces. The gasoline line is represented by the only 2.3-liter turbo engine for 302 horsepower.
