Voyah stops sales of electric vehicles in Russia

The Chinese Cars portal reports that “at this stage of development, the company graduated with electric cars” in the Russian market. Instead, Voyah focused on hybrids, the production of which was localized at the Motorinvest plant in the Lipetsk region. The solution and the fall of sales of electric machines, both new and used, influenced this solution.

Voyah has existed since 2018, and a brand belonging to Dongfeng came to the Russian market at the end of 2022. The first -award brand in the country was the Free electric crossover, and later on sale a hybrid free, minivan Dream and the Passion sedan appeared. In January-April of 2025, Voyah sales in Russia amounted to 1767 cars, which is 27 percent more than in the same period of 2024. On the same 27 percent, the number of registrations of the brand hybrids increased. The bestseller remains the free crossover, and its electric version has only a small percentage of the total sales.

“Despite the dynamic sales of electric vehicles in Russia, most of the inhabitants in our country are still preferring cars with an internal combustion engine,” Voyah’s press service told Chinese cars. “And hybrid models just become a bridge for a complete transition from ICE to electric cars.”

The Voyah press service confirmed that the new supplies of the brand electric vehicles are not planned in the near future. At the same time, some sellers have such cars in stock.

At the same time, “Chinese cars” found that some dealers stopped receiving electric Voyah last year. So, Avilon has implemented the last Voyah Free electric car in 2024 and has not ordered them since then due to low liquidity.
