At a press conference, Weichai announced the achievement of the thermal efficiency of 53.09%-for serial freight diesel engines, this is an excellent indicator. Compared to analogues of the same working volume, fuel consumption is promised to reduce at least five percent, and compared with the last generation trucks with efficiency up to 46%, saving on fuel will be up to 14%.

For a basic 12-liter diesel, peak torque is declared up to 2400 nm, that is, such an unit can be used as part of a road train with a lifting capacity of 31 tons. At the same time, the optimization of the structure made it possible to reduce the equipped mass of a truck by 150 kilograms. The “average” 14-liter diesel develops to 2750 nm of torque, which reduces the acceleration time to 80 km/h by 20%. Finally, the flagship engine produces 3200 Nm of torque.

Weichai claims that the declared resource of new diesel engines is 2.2 million kilometers, which is much exceeding the standards of the industry. The average annual mileage of Chinese main trucks is 250 thousand kilometers, that is, at least eight years will take place before overhaul. The oil change interval is also increased to 150 thousand kilometers.
