The rating of the most reliable family crossovers was compiled based on a survey of car owners no older than five years.
The leader of the top was the second generation Vauxhall Grandland (Opel in Russia), presented in 2024.
The reliability index of this model was 99.6%. According to the survey, only 4% of owners of such crossovers have experienced any breakdowns over the past two years. For comparison, for the previous generation Grandland (2018−2024), this figure reached 19%. The main problems of the new car, judging by the reviews, are not related to power electronics. Moreover, in 37% of cases, troubleshooting took only one day.
Second place in the ranking was taken by the current generation plug-in hybrid Toyota RAV4 with a reliability rating of 99.2%. 12% of owners complained about problems, all of which related exclusively to the 12-volt battery and multimedia system.
The Porsche Macan, produced since 2014, closed the top three. Its reliability rating was 99%. Only 5% of owners surveyed encountered problems related to electronics and transmission. In all cases, repairs were carried out at the expense of the manufacturer.
The top 10 most reliable family crossovers according to WhatCar also included Kia Niro (2022 – present), Toyota RAV4 Hybrid (2019-2024), Mazda CX-5 (gasoline, 2017-2025), Nissan Qashqai (2014-2021), Lexus UX (2019 – present), Skoda Kodiaq (diesel, 2017-2024) and Renault Scenic E-Tech (2023 – present).
