Xiaomi has certified a modification of the YU7 crossover weighing 2200 kg. Previously, the lightest version was the YU7 Long Range, which weighs 2315 kg. Experts from AutoHome suggest that the company used a traction battery with a smaller capacity, which affected the performance.

The new product will be equipped with an engine manufactured by Suzhou Huichuan United Power System. This motor produces 320 hp. rotates the rear wheels – a similar unit is equipped with the YU7 Long Range.

Experts suggest that the future base model will use a battery with a capacity of 75-80 kWh instead of the current 96 kWh. This solution will reduce the power reserve, but will also reduce the price of the car.

The crossover is based on the Modena platform. Length, width and height are 4999, 1996 and 1608 mm, respectively, with a three-meter wheelbase. Wheel sizes vary from 19 to 21 inches.

From the outside, the YU7 is similar to Xiaomi’s first model, the SU7 sedan. The crossover has a streamlined silhouette, a recognizable front design, a long hood, “hidden” door handles and a visor over the rear window.
