The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant spoke about the upcoming transformation, which should become the largest in its entire history. It is planned to invest more than 18 billion rubles in the development and expansion of production, the UAZ Today Telegram channel said. Investments will receive until 2027 from the mother company – the Sollers automobile group.
Record means will be launched to launch new industries, the construction of workshops and the modernization of technologies and equipment, the Sollers press service noted.
At UAZ, they have already begun to build a new line of press equipment. With its help, the body of the UAZ models will be stamped – both current and future – as well as Sollers cars based on the JAC. So, in addition to the “younger” pickups ST6 and ST8, the Ulyanovsk people will produce ST9 and a large frame SUV, so far known under the code name ST9 SUV.

UAZ CEO Aleksey Spirin noted that in May at the factory they improved the quality control area of finished machines: they updated the room itself and installed new equipment. The problem of the “loud” doors of the “loaf” was also solved – they were equipped with silent limiters.
Spirin also recalled that until the spring of 2022, UAZ purchased up to eight percent of components in the West – in particular, in Germany and the Czech Republic. For three years, almost all details managed to find a replacement from other suppliers.
