AvtoVAZ subsidiary Lada Sport LLC has begun assembling Lada Niva Sport SUVs. The painted bodies are brought here straight from the factory, and Lada Sport specialists are responsible for the individual assembly of each vehicle. The Niva Sport SUV differs from the regular Niva Legend in the settings of the suspension and brakes, as well as the engine – a 16-valve 1.6 unit from Granta Sport, the output of which has been increased to 122 horsepower and 151 Nm of torque. The transmission uses a manual gearbox with reinforced fifth gear gears and a clutch housing, plus a transfer case with a single-lever drive. In addition, the contrasting black and red color scheme of the interior has become characteristic of the Niva Sport.
