A driver in Russia was prosecuted for systematic traffic violations

The motorist was brought under an article that provides for a fine of up to 300 thousand rubles or imprisonment for up to two years. The accused was an 18-year-old resident of the city of Kaspiysk, who constantly threatened the safe operation of vehicles and created emergency situations on the roads. As a result, the Ministry of Internal Affairs decided to initiate a criminal case for committing acts out of hooliganism that threaten the safe operation of vehicles. The article provides for a fine in the amount of 150,000 to 300,000 rubles, or restriction or imprisonment for up to two years.

The accused admitted guilt. Taking into account this circumstance, the court imposed a fine in the amount of 180,000 rubles. Moreover, the man now has a criminal record. Despite the fact that this is the first such practice, the traffic police supported the court’s decision.

Last December, Russia planned to toughen penalties for car fraud on the roads. Then deputies proposed punishing fraudsters with imprisonment for up to four years.
