A full-fledged G-class competitor will appear in the Geely range

The head of the design center of the Geely concern, Flavian Dasche, said that the company is preparing a production version of the Galaxy Cruiser SUV. Chinese consumers will meet the brutal new product in a few months, and then we should wait for the European premiere. In the Old World, the rivals of the Chinese SUV will be the classics of the genre – Land Rover Defender and Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

Last spring, Geely showed the hardcore SUV Galaxy Cruiser. Even then it was reported that the production version of this concept would become part of the Galaxy family and would receive the latest developments from the Geely group – from the “digital chassis” to a safe battery.

The car will be based on the progressive SEA-R platform. It involves a 2.0-liter internal combustion engine, two electric motors and a 70-kilowatt traction battery. In the top version, the output of the installation reaches 1400 hp.

It is promised that the model will be able to move diagonally, turn around on the spot, and also drive with a flat tire. Another extremely interesting skill is to stay on the water for up to two hours, developing a speed of almost five knots (8.5 km/h).
