A Minsk resident has found a way to drive car-sharing Teslas, but not pay

A 38-year-old resident of the Belarusian capital regularly used car sharing services. But when financial difficulties forced the man to cut his own expenses, he found a way to independently open and launch electric cars belonging to a short-term rental service.

The man downloaded a special mobile application that allows him to connect to the on-board electronics of Tesla cars and then receive a virtual access key. Thanks to this, the Minsk resident was able to make several such trips.

One of these trips did not go unnoticed. As a result, the security service of the car sharing company contacted the police regarding the theft of the car, after which law enforcement authorities identified the attacker.

A criminal case has been initiated on this fact. The thief himself said that he really loves Tesla cars, but due to financial difficulties he is not able to pay for the short-term rental of American electric cars.
