The Russian company Navio, which deals with autonomous driving technologies, will present its own tractor under the symbol L5. A prototype car with a futuristic design and a giant screen that replaces the windshield will be presented live as part of the international AI Journey conference on December 11-13. L5 does not need a live driver, Navio claims: all actions are performed under the control of generative artificial intelligence.
The L5 prototype is designed to be completely autonomous. According to the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) scale, its level corresponds to L5 – this is full automation, which does not require human participation in control.
Navio (formerly SberAutoTech) has been developing autonomous driving technologies and other AI products since 2020. In two years, the company assembled 200 unmanned passenger cars, and in 2022 it began working on trucks. Since last summer, Navio has been delivering autonomously, with its trucks already driving more than 1.7 million kilometers.

The truck has no driver’s seat or controls. The windshield, as seen in the renderings, has been replaced with a screen. It can display various information: apparently, it can duplicate turn signals and indicate the speed of movement.
Google’s subsidiary launched a robotaxi for everyone in Los Angeles AvtoVAZ said when it will equip Lada with an autopilot Most Russians are afraid of unmanned vehicles, a survey showed
L5 will be able to recognize objects, move in a lane and change lanes, maintaining speed and distance. AI will also be able to adequately respond to emergency scenarios, Navio assures. The company expects that the introduction of unmanned tractors will help solve the problem of driver shortages.
In September, Navio, together with KamAZ, launched trucks without a person in the driver’s seat for the first time on the M-11 Neva highway. Autonomous cars arrived on the M-11 back in June last year, but the driver, who controls the operation of the systems, has always been behind the wheel.
