A ship with 3 thousand cars on board went to the bottom in the Pacific Ocean

This is Morning Midas – a Rolker, transporting more than three thousand cars from China to Mexico, including electric cars and hybrids. Three weeks ago, a fire broke out on board, which the team could not cope with: the ship was abandoned and left to burn out. It sank on June 23 in international waters off the coast of the Aleutian Islands, the Zodiac Maritime management company said.

At the place of emergency, two rescue tugboats with special equipment remain as a precaution, New York Post said with reference to Zodiac Maritime. Their task is to track any signs of pollution or garbage. In addition, a specialized ship to combat pollution was sent to the scene.

Among the three thousand cars on board there were about 800 electric vehicles. According to unconfirmed data, some of them were produced by Chinese Cher and Great Wall Motor factories. Also, Rolker could transport the Buick Envision cross-ruled batch manufactured by the SAIC-GM joint venture. It is located in the city district of Yantai, from the port of which Morning Midas was serving.

A fire occurred at the Rivian plant, dozens of electric cars were destroyed by fire to the Russians, they talked about the risks of explosion of electric vehicles, a ship with 4500 new Cheri, coming from South Korea

It was reported that the focus of the fire arose on the deck, where electric cars were immersed. Which car flashed first is unknown.

On the night of June 2, the team noticed smoke swirling over the deck and, after an unsuccessful attempt to cope with the flame, left the ship. He was left to burn out in the open sea, since there are still no effective ways of extinguishing burning lithium batteries that are equipped with most massive electric vehicles.
