Audi has dropped the petrol version of the S6 this generation, leaving the nameplate only for the electric S6 e-tron. ABT Sportsline has taken advantage of the situation and released a tuning package that turns the A6 plug-in hybrid into the closest car to a real S6 currently available. Carscoops reports this.
This electrified version is based on the Audi A6 eHybrid Quattro S Tronic. The hybrid setup includes a 2.0-liter turbo engine (four cylinders), one electric motor and a traction battery with a capacity of 14.1 kWh. The electric-only range on the WLTP cycle reaches 111 km.
Thanks to ABT Power, the PHEV’s power increases from 362 hp. and 500 Nm up to 422 hp. and 550 Nm. Power goes to all four wheels through a 7-speed S Tronic dual-clutch transmission and Quattro system.
Although the performance is inferior to the old 2.9-liter V6 biturbo (444 hp, 600 Nm), tuning makes the hybrid much more interesting. ABT also notes that this is the most powerful modification of the C9 at the moment, ahead of the American version with a 3.0-liter turbo V6 (362 hp).
Increased handling is provided by lowered springs, which also give the executive sedan a sportier and more aggressive look. Visual enhancements from ABT include a gloss black front splitter and rear wing with floating fins. Additionally, you can order 21-inch ABT Sport HR21 wheels with sports tires.
