But the positions of many other star pilots in the final table became a surprise. So, last year’s winner Vladimir Sheshenin did not leave group selections to the finals, which also won here Dmitry Bragin this time drove past the catwalk, and Vitaliy Petrov became a real “Anderdog”.
The Champions race is called so because it collects the best representatives of various disciplines of motorsport on one highway. It is not shameful not to show in this competition even for titled riders, especially if they come here for the first time or a maximum of the second or third time. Or, in other words, good luck in receiving the best conditions from the category of those that he cannot influence. This year, Pirelli tires became such a factor. It seems to be everything as usual: the tread is generously strewn with “nails”, which stick out from it by 4.5 mm, and this gives an almost asphalt “hold” in corners. But during the races, the pilots realized that wear and decrease in the characteristics of these Pirelli occurs faster than in similar tires of the same brand used in previous years. And the stronger the wheels of a particular machine in previous attempts were loaded, the slower it rode in the subsequent ones.

And so the ninth title Ladygin happened, which strengthened his status of the king of the Champions race – two convincing victories over Petrov in a row.
But nine -time is not the only new status of Kirill Sergeyevich. After the finish line, the Lada Sport Rosneft team announced the transfer of Ladygin from pilots to managers – in the coming season of the RCP RSKG championship, he will leave the hotel of the tourist West Tuner and will become the head of the team in the super production class. But the names of the pilots who will take places behind the wheel in Lada Categories Super Products and TCR Russia are still not named.
