BYD began selling an electric car that charges in 9 minutes

The Chinese auto giant officially unveiled the Song Ultra electric crossover, which became the first model of the new Dynasty line in the compact crossover segment. BYD said it has achieved revolutionary charging speeds: from 10 to 70% the battery is filled in 5 minutes, and to 97% in just 9 minutes. At extremely low temperatures (−30°C), the time increases by only three minutes.

The new product is available in four trim levels at prices ranging from 151.9 thousand yuan to 179.9 thousand yuan (from 1.8 million rubles to 2 million rubles). The car is offered in two cruising range options according to the CLTC cycle: 620 km and 710 km.

The main technical feature is the use of Short Blade Battery 2.0 (the second generation of proprietary LFP batteries). The capacity is 68.4 kWh for the younger versions and 82.7 kWh for the older ones. The car is rear-wheel drive, with one electric motor. Power – 326 hp. or 367 hp depending on the version. Top speed is limited to 210 km/h.

Externally, the Song Ultra is distinguished by its minimalistic front end design with a full-width strip of daytime running lights. The cabin features a 15-inch rotating multimedia screen, a 10-inch virtual instrument panel and a head-up display.

The list of equipment includes seats with ventilation and massage, and the front and rear seats can be folded into a flat surface 1.8 m long. The volume of the main luggage compartment is 730 liters, expandable to 1659 liters, and an additional 150-liter front luggage compartment is provided.

As standard, the new BYD is equipped with adaptive suspension and seven airbags, including a central one between the front passengers. For an additional fee, the DiPilot 300 complex with lidar and 27 sensors is available, which are responsible for the operation of driver assistance systems.

Previously, Russians were given a monthly payment for a subscription to Lada Vesta.
