Almost 17 thousand GAC GS8 were recalled in Russia to check the engine

Rosstandart reports on the beginning of a response campaign affecting 16,944 GAC GS8 crossovers, implemented in Russia from July 17, 2023 to March 24, 2025. The reason for the recall was the software of the motor, which in rare cases can lead to an increase in the level of vibration. This, in turn, can potentially cause a leak in the connection of the high pressure pump and a high -pressure fuel tube, which threatens a fire.

As part of the recall on the GS8, the moment of tightening the nut of the fuel line coming from the high pressure pump will increase. Owners of cars affecting the campaign will notify the need to visit the service center with a letter or by phone. All work will be carried out free of charge for the owners – as always in such cases, the car manufacturer takes the costs of himself.

Earlier, the same model fell under the review in China, but he did not touch Russia. At the beginning of 2025, the 74 thousand GAC GS8 for the domestic market of the PRC found problems with the electronic instrument panel: due to the software failure with digital “tidy, the speedometer testimony disappeared. However, local car owners did not have to visit the services-the GAC used the modern technology of remote renewal Over-The-Air (OTA), which allowed to receive the corrected version of the “air”.

In Russia, the GAC GS8 has been sold since 2018 – this model has become debut for the brand in our market. In 2024, the second generation GS8 reached Russia, which is sold to this day.
