Thomas Davis from Texas successfully retested to renew his driver’s license. State law requires drivers over 85 to certify their skills every two years. Despite his age, the man actively uses the car and has no intention of giving up driving.
Davis, who served during World War II, decided to get tested less out of necessity than out of curiosity – he wondered if he could meet the requirements. However, the veteran’s driver’s license does not lie idle – he still drives his Chevrolet Silverado pickup, trying not to stray too far from home.

According to Thomas, he is well aware that with age his reactions on the road deteriorate, and he tries to be extremely careful. Despite years of experience, the only violation he has on record is a speeding ticket received many years ago. Interestingly, he is not the oldest driver in his family: his older brother was able to renew his license at 103 years old.
Earlier, Chinese media reported on a 95-year-old Shanghai resident named Xu, who worked as a physical education teacher all his life. After retirement, he became interested in traveling and, having learned about the abolition of age restrictions for obtaining a driver’s license in China, he decided to fulfill his old dream. The pensioner enrolled in a driving school and successfully passed the theoretical exam, showing results no worse than young candidates.
