An excess of Chinese cars in Russia will set a new record

This year, auto-experts are subjected to unprecedented overstocking: due to too ambitious sales plans in the warehouses of dealers, about 250 thousand “extra” cars of Chinese brands will be. Together with the rest of the last year, the total volume will reach about 750 thousand pieces, the ex-president of the Russian Automobile dealers (Road) association Oleg Moseev calculated.

In 2025, automakers from China to Russia have big plans: they are going to sell 1.6 million new cars in the amount of 1.6 million. According to Moiseev’s forecast, they will not succeed in doing this, and the result will be a serious overshooting of warehouses.

There, many cars that were not sold last year have accumulated there – about 360 thousand. Moreover, the assessment can be low. At the beginning of January, reserves could grow up to half a million cars, Moiseev believes. This is enough for four to five months, given the current sales speed.

It turned out which Chinese brands in Russia the most effective dealers revealed the share of the “Chinese” on the Russian car market in 2024, which was happening with Chinese cars five years later in Russia. Spoiler – nothing good

Collidation of warehouses will result in bankruptcy of dealers and may result in the departure of some brands from Russia. At risk, unpopular manufacturers such as Skywell, SWM, Haima, VGV, Kaiyi, Foton and Livan.

By the way, the Skywell salons began to close in December, and the other day, Rolf stopped cooperation with Kaiyi and BAIC. In general, the Chinese DCs began to disappear twice as fast: last year, almost 450 points stopped the work.
