In St. Petersburg, the second stage of the Grand Prix of the Russian Drift of the series (RDS GP) ended. For the first time, the main tournament of the country on drift arrived at the Igor Drive highway in the spring-the unpredictability of the weekend was added by the changeable weather, which throughout all days challenged the pilots, forcing them to constantly adapt to the changing coating. Some athletes were brought up by equipment, which also affected the distribution of positions in the stage.
The first news of Sunday was George Chivchyan from the struggle even before the start of the top 16. At the warm -up of the leader of Takayama Forward Auto, the engine has problems, but the team decided not to change the motor, but to declare a technical gathering. Moreover, the rival of Gochi according to the top 16 was his partner Timofei Dobrovolsky-the team in any case would receive a ticket to the TOP-8.

The second gathering happened to Danila Skorobogatova (Lukoil Racing Drift Team) in the race with Damir Idiyatulin (Fresh Racing). After contact, Danila’s car was damaged. The team almost managed to eliminate problems for a five -minute timaut, but not quite. Having released the pilot to start with unwound wheels, the team provided him with a technical gathering – the condition of the car was recognized as unsafe to continue the struggle. As a result, Damir Idiyatulin went into the top 8 through the single passage of BYE RUN.
The rest of the duels on Sunday passed in a planned mode, although not without reloads. Roman Forward Auto through the OMT-trip defeated Maxim Grossman (TimeUp), and pair of Arkady Tsaregradsev (Lecar Obsessed Motorsport) and Sergey Kuznetsov (Star Poer Stars Aimol), the opinions of the judges dispersed so that all three made different decisions. After the OMT-trip, Arkady Tsaregraders received a ticket to the next stage, where an intra-divided derby with Ilya Popov was waiting for him. The leader of the team prevailed and secured a place in the semifinals. There, Roman Tivodar became the opponent of the king. According to the results of this duel, Arkady Tsaregraders went to the final, and the Takayama Forward Auto pilot in the race for third place.
In the decisive battle of the day, the leader of “Lecar Office Motorsport” was to be measured by the forces with the RDS GP 2023 vice champion Anton Kozlov. The Carville Racing pilot at the TOP-16 stage was stronger than Denis Migal, and Timofey Dobrovolsky won the top 8. In the semifinals, Kozlov met with Damir Idiyatulin (Fresh Racing), and this duel became one of the most spectacular driveways of the day – in difficult weather conditions, the drift masters demonstrated dense and synchronous races both as a leader and in the role of a pursuer. Then went to Kozlov.
The final gave the audience another bright battle, which was important for both finalists. Anton Kozlov took the top in a duel with Arkady Tsaregradsev – the won stage at the new “reverse” configuration “Igor Dreve” was the second victory for the pilot in the RDS GP and the first victory since 2023, when Anton won his debut start on the Moscow Raceway. For Arkady Tsaregradtsev, Podium on Igor Drive became rehabilitation for failure at the previous stage, when the legendary pilot could not overcome the qualification selection and get into the top 32. The third place at the stage in St. Petersburg was taken by Damir Idiyatulin, who was able to gather and make less mistakes than his opponent Roman Tivodar.
